This is a 3-ply yarn set of handspun from white BFL (blue faced leicester) top. After spun in its natural color, it was then dyed purple into two 300 yard skeins.
Skein 1 was done with low water immersion dyeing technique grey and brown in sections before speckled with complimentary colors in the white space.
Skein 2 was dyed lilac leaving white space to match skein 1
Most of the time I dye fibers and roving before spinning, but once in awhile I like to spin the yarn first before having fun playing with color.
Each skein: 3ply; 5.3oz/150gr; approx. 300 yards; approx. 12 wpi; soft & lofty (squishy)
Handspun on my Lendrum & plied on my SpinOlution wheel; dyed in my home studio in Nova Scotia, Canada
Ships from Canada’s east coast.
